Dive Bar Romeos Bio

DIVE BAR ROMEOS is a New York City based Rock & Roll band featuring premier musicians from the Lower East Side underground music scene. Dive Bar Romeos is the brainchild of Joey Kelly & Jimmy “Mack” McElligott. In the early 1980’s both Jimmy & Joey were managed and booked by the same partners. Joey was lead vocalist for Buddy Love & Jimmy was the guitarist for The Propellers. Both Jimmy & Joey played the same venues in the tri state area and both appeared on The Uncle Floyd Show.

Fast forward 30 plus years later, Joey & Jimmy now share the stage together in their band Dive Bar Romeos. Jimmy first appeared with The Joey Kelly All Stars back in 2014 when Joey’s All Star guitarist cancelled at the last minute. Joey then called up Jimmy and asked if he would fill in. Immediately Jimmy said yes and the rest just fell into place. Joey & Jimmy have been sharing the stage since with their band Dive Bar Romeos and receiving acclaim from Hall of Fame musicians to fans all over.
